Private Equity Simulator
Private Equity Simulator
Private Equity Simulator is a game about making money. Not by "hard work" or "bringing value"—no, those are for schmucks. You make money by firing tons of workers, saving money, and riding off into the sunset before the company collapses.
And the best part? The NPCs in this game simulate real humans with lives, relationships, and 40+ unique personalities. Tom from accounting thinks he can guilt trip you with his sob story about his dead mother? Think again, Tom!
Wait, where are the graphics!?
This is a 10-day prototype released for early feedback. Because the concept was so experimental, I focused entirely on gameplay, systems, and writing first. Flashy visuals and polish were saved for later — if enough people enjoy the core idea, I'll keep building on it!
Tips for Beginners:
- Don't get fired. Mouth off to your boss if you want to learn what happens.
- Nothing will happen until you run the graph. After firing one or two people, run the graph for a short time.
- If you run out of interview credits, try cutting people's salaries instead of firing them.
- Fire tons of people at the end of the quarter. By the time the company collapses, it will be someone else's problem.
Roadmap
If players enjoy Private Equity Simulator, here are some features I'm planning to add:
- Cartoon-style graphics: Light, funny visuals to match the satirical tone.
- Facial expressions: Characters reacting visually to good and bad events.
- More personality types: Even more weird and wonderful NPCs to interview (and fire).
- More companies: New settings with different industries, rules, and challenges.
- Judgement-themed ending: A full storyline where you're held accountable for your decisions.
- Company policies: Options like severance pay, benefit cuts, or morale-boosting programs.
- Text-to-speech voices: Make the game more accessible by having the option to read text out loud.
- Improved balancing: Smoother pacing, more interesting choices, and tighter gameplay.
Thanks for helping test such a weird idea! Your feedback means a lot.
About the Developer
Hi! I'm a solo developer who loves experimenting with weird game ideas. Private Equity Simulator was built in just 10 days as a personal challenge — to see if I could create a satirical, thought-provoking game about corporate culture and human behavior. Thanks for playing!
